I heard a loud “Moo!” and I guessed that I had been kicked by a cow!
My body trembled and I lay there on the grass, the back of my dressing gown was cold and wet. I knew it was no good running away because I’d probably be chased by a whole herd; so I curled up in a ball and cried, my shin throbbing painfully.
I must have cried myself to sleep because I woke up to a middle-aged lady, standing over me and trying to wake me up by splashing water on my face.
“Dear! Finally you’re awake! By jove you have a nasty old bruise on that shin of yours! Your parents or whoever you are staying with really must know about this as soon as possible. Oh, and as a matter of fact what has got you here, laying her on the grass in your night clothes?” asked the lady.
I yawned heavily, and looked up to the lady. She was small with black hair tied into a short, low ponytail and had big, bulgy eyes.
